ePTFE joint sealant requires only minimal bolt load to achieve a seal — the micro-porous structure flows into surface imperfections. This prevents damage to glass-lined, plastic-lined and FRP equipment where traditional gaskets need high torque to seal.
Self-adhesive backing — peel, press, overlap and tighten
Wipe flange surface to remove oil and debris. Cut the tape at a 30° angle — starting at a bolt hole is easiest. Peel back 3-6 inches of the adhesive backing paper.
Press the squared end of the tape onto the flange face and lay it along the sealing surface, peeling the backing paper as you go. Keep the tape centered on the sealing face.
At the end, cut the tape at a 30° angle again and overlap the start point by 30-50 mm. Tighten bolts gradually in a star pattern. No retorquing usually needed.
